A firm favourite with couples and families looking for a fun filled, sun drenched holiday is Es Cana located on the eastern side of the island of Ibiza.

Day time activities centre around the wonderful, golden sandy beach which is manned by life guards in the hot summer months making it an ideal place for children. Parents can relax in the sunshine knowing that their little ones are safe. However for those looking for a little more excitement out of their day, extensive water sports facilities are available including banana boats, water skiing, parasailing and wind surfing.

Within walking distance of the main beach is the unspoilt, less crowded Cala Martina which has an excellent windsurfing and diving school. Learn a new skill whilst holidaying in Es Cana and explore the amazing underwater world of the Mediterranean.

A favourite tourist attraction is the world famous hippy market that is held in grounds of Club Punta Arabi every Wednesday from April to October. This is a must see for holiday makers looking to purchase a good quality, often handmade gift from one of the many stalls. The market offers lots of shade to protect you from the hot sun and is a perfect place to pass the time on holiday whilst picking up a unique piece.

The countryside surrounding Es Cana is just waiting for you to discover it. Venture to the pretty village of San Carlos and visit the legendary Anita's bar, the original hang out of the hippies who came to Ibiza during the 1960's. You can even take a boat trip from the pretty harbour to the bustling capital Ibiza Town to see the ‘beautiful' people play.

In the cooler winter months embark on a trek of the stunning costal road. Stop off at strategically placed bars and restaurants and then explore unspoilt beaches like Cala Nova or Cala S'Argamassa. The route eventually reaches the sophisticated resort of Santa Eulalia.

Evening entertainment in Es Cana is a relaxed affair. Families are especially well catered for, with a variety of food to suit even the fussiest of young palates. Many of the bars and restaurants offer entertainment aimed specifically at children whilst others allow you to test your general knowledge in pub-style quizzes. If the children become bored take them to visit one of the amusement parks dotted around Es Cana, these are sure to excite both the young and old. For couples wanting a quieter evening, how about a stroll along the promenade, stopping off at one of the many beach bars to enjoy a relaxing drink whilst taking in the beautiful sea views.

Accommodation tends to be family friendly and on the more basic side with good quality hotels and accommodation, none are too far from the beach or other amenities Es Cana has to offer.
